Family Story Requests
Please contribute any remembrances in any form.
If we don't write these stories down, they will become lost forever. It is through our personal stories that our ancestors become more than just names and dates. We are all family and we are very interested in every individual. The stories of our own lives will be a gift to our descendants. If you are more comfortable talking, interviewing or just having a conversation with someone else, please send us a standard audio tape and we will be happy to put it down on paper to the best of our ability.
Perhaps some of these suggested questions will bring back some of those warm memories. Please change the context to apply to either a handed-down story or your own. Even little snippets make our people come alive. We will continue our policy of not including additional personally identifying information of any living persons on our web site.
How did they meet?
Was the birth a special circumstance?
What were their occupations, hobbies, talents and accomplishments?
How was their daily life different from ours today? What new inventions did they encounter?
What was a scary event? A pleasant surprise? A major or minor disaster? Memories of siblings, grandparents, aunts and uncles, neighbors or friends? Schooldays? Vacations or travels? Birthdays and holidays? Unique customs and traditions? What made them laugh?
Country or city? Describe the location. What special impact did the location have on their lives?
Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera . . . . .
Thank you for sharing!
